Is the bitcoin pay link process fully automated?

Currently, there is a fully automated solution available for the Moneybird accounting software. Once an invoice is generated in Moneybird, a Bitcoin payment link is automatically created in Bitcoin Invoice. When the paying customer clicks on the payment link, they have the option to pay the correct amount in sats based on the current exchange rate. If the invoice is settled in Euros in Moneybird, the Bitcoin payment link is marked as paid, ensuring that the information stays synchronized.

Are you processing onchain or lightning transactions?

This depends on the transaction amount. Bitcoin Lightning transactions are currently well-suited for amounts up to a few hundred euros. Beyond that, on-chain transactions are generally more cost-effective and reliable. Therefore, we dynamically determine which options (Lightning, on-chain, or both) are presented to the payer based on the transaction amount.

When do you pay out?

This depends on the payment method. Payments via Bitcoin Lightning are settled once per day. For on-chain received payments, the process is different. If you have provided us with an XPUB, an address from your own Bitcoin wallet is used, and you receive the transaction immediately. If you have provided us with a single address, we also settle payments once per day.

What are the costs?

The amount of fee you pay is 0.5% of the transaction value with a maximum of 5,000 satoshis.

Can I use my own (hardware) wallet?

Yes, if you share your XPUB exclusively with us (and do not use it elsewhere), we can direct payments straight to your own address. This ensures that you maintain control over the transactions.
